MALE staff, and some sixth-formers, at Newent Community School, were sporting moustaches during November as part of a campaign to raise awareness of men's health issues.
They were taking part in a worldwide campaign called Movember, which aims to change the face of male health issues, in particular raising awareness about prostate cancer, testicular cancer and depression.
At the school, the students have been raising money for the Prostate Cancer Charity, by running competitions such as ‘Match the Mo to the Bro’, ‘Design a New Moustache for Mr Potatohead’, and by voting for the best and worst staff moustache.
The fund raising and awareness culminated in a ‘Wear it Blue’ day on Friday (November 27) which raised £600.
