AN exhibition at Bromesberrow village hall of treasures from the local church proved to be a great success.
Crowds flocked to the hall to see rare items, including an Elizabethan silver chalice and a rose glass 17th century flagon The most-photographed exhibits were the unique 1642 Civil War flags, one a Royalist standard and one a Parliamentarian standard, which were carefully guarded by members of the Sealed Knot re-enactment squad.
Rev Dr Peter Newing said: "It is most pleasing to see so many people appreciating the skills of those in the past who have created such a treasure trove for us to enjoy."
He thanked all those involved with organising the exhibition and to others who had made such valuable contributions, especially the Royal Oak Hotel in Ledbury who had been so generous.
