Cathedral will be first for broadband antennae
12:00pm Sunday 25th December 2011 in News
HEREFORD Cathedral is to become the first in the UK to allow broadband antennae to be installed on its tower.
Herefordshire based internet company allpay Broadband was granted permission by the Diocese of Hereford and its broadband licence for churches and the installation will enable villages to the north of the city to have fast internet access for the first time.
The height of the cathedral’s tower will open up a five-mile line of sight radius to create opportunities to expand the service.
The licence was launched in January and allows every church in the Diocese to apply for allpay broadband equipment to be installed.
