Charity urges amateurs to get snapping for its 2013 calendar

LOCAL amateur photographers are being urged to enter a photography competition being organised by Community Action Malvern and District.

The charity, which provide services such as the ring-andride car scheme, wants to produce a calendar for 2013.

Now organisers are appealing for local talents to provide the pictures to make the calendar an attractive proposirion.

The competition has 12 categories, one for each month, and the winners in each category will see their work in print.

The categories are: flora and fauna; everyday objects; water, wells and springs; architecture; sports and action; the view from your window; a means of travel; the sky; seasonal; faces; local landmarks; and freestyle.

There will also be an overall winner, who will get to spend half a day with up-and-coming Worcester photographer Adam Hoskins.

The competition is open now, and entries must be recieved by June 1, with the winners being announced at the end of the same month. They will be invited to a Community Action event later on in the year, when the calendar is launched.
