Novelist wins top award for tragic tale

A NOVELIST who works in Malvern is celebrating picking up a top award for her latest book.

Lindsay Stanberry-Flynn’s novel Unravelling won first prize in the adult fiction category of The Wishing Shelf Independent Book Awards.

Judges said the book, which tells of a woman forced to confront her past when her ex-husband comes back into her life, was a “compelling tale of love and tragedy”.

Lindsay, who teaches creative writing at South Worcestershire College, said: “It’s wonderful to see my novel being enjoyed by so many people.”

Her next novel, entitled The Piano Player’s Son, is due out next year. Signed copies of Unravelling are available from Malvern Bookshop Co-Operative, in St Ann’s Road, Malvern or online at Amazon or Troubador.
