Hat-trick of awards for local cider firm
A LOCAL cider company is celebrating a hat-trick of successes at a prestigious competition.
Once upon a Tree, based in Putley, near Ledbury, enjoyed a successful day at the International Cider and Perry Competition, which was held at the Hereford Cider Museum.
Cider maker Simon Day, pictured left with two of his awards, was delighted when his Marcle Ridge was named best dry cider and his Dabinett the best single variety cider.
“The firm also gained a third place in the best medium cider category for its new Tumpy Ground,” he said.
“Winning at the Hereford Cider Museum competition is particularly special for us as we are on home turf.
“It helps to bring recognition to how orchards and cider making continue to define the landscape, culture and communities of our beautiful county.”
Entrants from all over the world were invited to join in the competition,
