REVELLERS rolled up to ‘soak a bloke’ or ‘drench a wench’ at a fun day.

It was all part of Tug of War Sunday organised by the Friends of the Beauchamp Arms at Wintour’s Green, Dymock.

The fun day helps support the village’s community-owned pub.

Event spokesman Ian Brown said: “It was very well attended. The eventual winners were Newent Rugby Club 'A'

who beat the Beauchamp Arms in the final.

“Before that there was a children’s completion where the boys pulled against the girls – and the girls won!”

Other attractions included an animal corner with miniature pigs, ducks and guinea pigs, a hawk display, magician and various stalls.
