THE Environment Agency is warning residents to stay vigilant about the risk of flooding as another band of heavy rain is expected to fall.
Flood warnings are still in place for the River Teme at Stanford Bridge and Tenbury Wells, with peak levels at 9.30pm yesterday at Stanford Bridge and at 2am today at Tenbury Wells.
At 9.30 am today, the level at Bransford Bridge was 4.92 metres and rising slowly. A peak level of between 4.8 and 5 metres is expected this afternoon. Flooding could affect minor roads around Bransford, the A413 at Bransford and the A449 at Powick.
Although smaller rivers have peaked and are steady or beginning to go down, the Severn continues to rise and is on flood alert for Worcestershire, and the New Street flood gate at Upton is being closed this morning.
The river Avon at Evesham has just peaked.
