YEAR seven pupils at John Masefield High School have plenty to do in their lunch breaks these days – thanks to their older schoolmates. A group of prefects from year 11 have formed a board games club, which is rapidly becoming one of this term’s success stories. Wendy Bradbeer of the school said: “These prefects are the Year Seven Support Group and they came up with the idea of the club. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for our prefects to work with younger students and help support them whilst having fun.

Although in its infancy, the club has proved popular and is fast becoming a don’t-miss event on the weekly calendar.” Pictured having fun playing perennial table-top favourite Jenga, with other classic games such as Frustration and Ker-plunk waiting in the wings, are, left to right, Kim Palmer, Jade Beattie, Jess Bevan, Annabel Cole, Amy Loader, Katherine Allsop and Callum Boughton.
