Volunteers needed for card shop

MANAGERS of a charity Christmas card shop which opens at the end of this month are eager to recruit volunteers to make the venture a success.

Cards for Good Causes opens on Tuesday, October 30, on the ground floor of the Ledbury Heritage Centre in Church Lane, offering shoppers the chance to buy Christmas cards from more than 25 national and local charities.

The shop will be open six days a week from 10am to 3.30pm until Saturday, December 15, and volunteers are urgently needed.

Shop managers Catherine Duggins and Maggie Brocklehurst said: “Weekday morning or afternoon and Saturday slots are waiting to be filled by people who have time to spare to help raise funds for these charities.

“As we’re part of the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation, we offer customers a wide range of designs to choose from and a convenient way to support more than one good cause and by helping us, you can help them.”

If you can assist or want more information, call Maggie on 01531 890566 or e-mail m d b r o c k l e @ g m a i l . c o m .

Cards for Good Causes pays the participating charities at least 75p in every pound from their card sales, less VAT.

The retained amount covers CFGC’s costs of running the temporary card shops.

The shop is in the heritage centre for the second year; previous to this, it had been at St Michael’s Church for more than a decade.
