Snapper Robin wins contest
12:10pm Wednesday 10th October 2012 in News
COMPOSED: Robin Hampton's picture of a singing Robin.
A picture of a singing robin is the winner of a photographic competition held by Malvern's Community Action.
The competition was open to anyone in Worcestershire.
The winner was Robin Hampton of Worcester, who snapped the bird in his garden in the city.
Although Mr Hampton was the overall winner, he is joined by 11 other winners whose names are now available on Community Action’s website available at communityaction.org.uk.
The judges had a tough decision as the photographs were of a very high standard.
One judge, professional photographer Adam Hoskins from AH Light, said the picture was chosen because it was the clearest, best-composed photograph.
Mr Hampton will now enjoy some professional tips from Mr Hoskins as his prize, as well as seeing his picture in print.
The 12 photographs will now be made into a calendar whose proceeds will go to the charity.
The calendars will go on sale at the end of October from Just So in Barnard’s Green, the coffee shop at Prospect View health centre, Pickersleigh Road, on Thursday and Friday mornings.
They will also be available at Community Action’s Charity Fair , which is due to take place on November 17 at Malvern St James.
If you would like to buy a calendar, or volunteer for Community Action, then you can do so by calling 01684 892381.
