Get electric blanket tested

PEOPLE in Ledbury and Bromyard will be able to get their electric blankets tested at their local fire stations this month.

Pete Hope, community safety advisor with Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Electric blanket safety testing has become a key part of our community safety calendar.

“Last year, just under a third of electric blankets we tested were found to be defective in one way or another, some of them presenting a significant risk to the user.

“We were able to offer replacement blankets for those found to be unsafe, and this is something we will be repeating this year.”

The sessions will be at Bromyard Fire Station, New Road, on Tuesday, October 23, and Ledbury Fire Station, Bye Street, on Wednesday, October 24, between 9.30am and 3.45pm.
