Plans for expanded teacher training at QE

TEACHER training facilities at Queen Elizabeth Humanities College will be expanded if a planning application is successful.

The Robert Owen Society, which trains prospective teachers at the Bromyard school, has applied to Herefordshire Council to erect a mobile classroom on site and provide 13 additional car parking spaces.

Marketing manager at the Leominster-based society, Abi Horsburgh, said: “We deliver teacher training across the whole of the West Midlands where we train about 200 teachers a year.”

The application was discussed and supported by Bromyard and Winslow Town Council’s planning committee on Monday, June 1.

Chairman of the committee coun Nick Cronin said: “We supported it whole-heartedly. It’s important that we keep any use of the school to ensure its existence.”
