A DOG from Bromyard has walked away from Crufts with one of the top prizes.

Raphael, a four-year-old Belgian Shepherd Tervuren, claimed the prestigious best of breed award at the 120th anniversary of the show in Birmingham’s NEC last weekend.

Handler Shaun Eaves said: “I've been coming to Crufts for over 30 years and Raphael is up there with the best of them. He's matured so much since we brought him here for the first time last year. He's a lovely dog but we had no idea he would win, we didn’t expect it at all. We knew he was in very good condition, so we were delighted when he was announced the winner.”

More than 21,000 dogs took part over the weekend.
