A NEW Social Enterprise brewery has been set up near Bromyard to help disadvantaged people.

Brew On, based on the National Trust Brockhampton Estate, will provide opportunities for people with disabilities or experiencing social exclusion.

The brewery will offer support, employment, training and volunteering for adults in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to increase social inclusion, community cohesion and to improve the lives of people who find their employment choices restricted.

Nick Comley, managing director of Brew On, said: “Brew On is an example of the transformational positive effect of doing good business and doing business for good. We will provide consumers with a real choice to drink socially, responsibly.”

Brew On aims to create a range of bottled ales, ciders and soft drinks from locally sourced ingredients that will be available at all National Trust properties in Herefordshire, as well as in shops and restaurants.

It also hopes to use ingredients from National Trust properties and farms, such as apples, damsons, barley and hops.

The brewery will be officially launched on Sunday, June 5, with brewing set to commence in mid-April.
