A BEAUTY therapist student from Bretforton, near Evesham is in line for a top industry award.
Thirty-years-old Gemma Marskell-Stewart, who studied at South Worcestershire College, has won a place at the World Skills Final in November. She was runner-up at the regional heats for advanced beauty therapy, during which she had to perform a variety of beauty treatments and was judged on her professionalism and standard.
“We are really proud of Gemma and extremely proud that she has taken SWC into the final for the fifth year in a row, " said beauty lecturer Sam Sears. "Gemma will be in the final ten, out of hundreds of competitors this year. This clearly demonstrates the high standard of our students here at SWC and the commitment of our learners to achieve above expectation.”
The World Skills Final will be held at the NEC, Birmingham from November 131-15 and the top finalists will then have the opportunity to represent the UK at international competition level.
