SECURITY software development specialist Titania Ltd is preparing to do battle with the best after reaching the national finals of the British Chambers of Commerce Chamber Awards.

The company in St Mary's Street, Worcester, has won the small business of the year category in the regional West Midlands heat of the competition recognised as a highlight of the business world.

Ruth Inglis, Titania sales and marketing manager, said: "We are honoured to have won the small business award for the West Midlands, especially considering the amount of innovative and successful small companies that exist in the region. We have worked really hard to be the best not only in terms of our product, but through providing an excellent working environment for our staff and a solid strategy for our future.

"We are therefore really pleased to have these efforts recognised through these prestigious business awards. Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce has been a huge source of support for us since the company’s inception through training and advice, which is why we recently became strategic members."

Since starting up in 2009, the company has grown significantly, and now employs more than 20 people and has a turnover surpassing £1m. Although rooted locally, Titania has made the most of the services offered by the UKTI team based at the HW chamber to become big players on the international stage with customers in countries such as Australia, Canada and the USA now making approximately 90 per cent of its turnover.

National winners of the Chamber Awards will be announced on Thursday ,November 27 at a ceremony at the Tower of London.
