SKIPTON Building Society, which has a branch at The Cross, Worcester , has been labelled a ‘giant killer’ after outshining some of the UK’s top multinational companies for its customer excellence. The Society has climbed 23 places to 13th in the UK in the annual Nunwood Customer Experience Excellence survey, which places it among names like John Lewis, M&S and Amazon.

Kevin Crawford, manager at Skipton’s Worcester branch, said: “To be elevated to such a high place in customer excellence in Nunwood’s extensive and thorough customer survey gives the clear message that our customers very much appreciate how Skipton is conducting its business. It clearly demonstrates how important it is for Skipton to strive for excellence, not only for customers but in all areas of our business. The number 13 is usually unlucky, but for Skipton this is a wonderful number. And we believe we can climb higher by continuously introducing major initiatives such as our No Pressure Promise.

“Last year was the first time Skipton was included in the research and we were listed 36th. We are, therefore, pleased to have made such a major impact this year. There are a number of things to which this can be attributed, the most important aspect is being close to our customers and knowing what is important to them."
