ARE you a red, blue, green or yellow business person? Not sure? Then you should have been at a breakfast meeting at Worcester's Sixways stadium.

Because it was where Finditinworcestershire’s Insights for Better Business event explained the Insights Discovery profiling system. This categorises personalities into colour types and helps them to do more business with more people.

Speaker Peter Johnson showed delegates how to use the system to understand their own strengths and weaknesses, and those of other people, in order to work more efficiently and effectively together. Mr Johnson, of Worcester-based Project in Mind Ltd, was the first person in the world to be accredited as an Insights Deeper Discovery practitioner. The system is based on the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung and uses a simple and accessible four colour model to understand an individual’s character and preferences.

Kathryn Wagstaff, project manager of Finditinworcestershire, said: “People do business with people, so it’s vitally important that local businesses understand personality types and how to work together effectively. I’m delighted that Peter Johnson shared his expertise with our members, all for free, so they can take away the lessons and put them to good use for their businesses.”

More than 115 local business leaders, owners and directors also took part in Finditinworcestershire’s renowned monthly networking session, where they made new contacts and discussed opportunities to work together. A range of exhibition stands showcased products and services from county companies including PSG Events’ audio-visual systems and Areca Design’s creative marketing services. The county’s comprehensive business support service, Worcestershire.Business.Central, was on hand to answer questions about funding, recruitment, skills and any other topics to help local firms.

Next month’s Finditinworcestershire’s breakfast and networking meeting will take place at Sixways Stadium on Tuesday, November 18 from 6.45am to 9.30am. Free places for the event, where marketing specialists Ventutec will explain the importance of creativity in business, can be booked by visiting www.finditinworcestershire.com
