THE combined brain power of more than 20 local businesses raised £1,000 for Worcester charity Frankie’s Legacy at a quiz night organised by SME Solicitors at the New Road headquarters of Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Teams included Peach Recruitment, BRI, Handelsbanken and Andrew Grant Estate Agents, who joined SME Solicitors, to answer different rounds of general knowledge questions. The winning team was from Cornwall Street barristers’ chambers in Birmingham.

Quizmasters for the evening were Guy Salter and Yvonne Tivey , heads of employment and litigation respectively at SME. “The standard of the teams seems to be getting better each year, which gives me more challenges in setting the questions,” said Mr Salter. “The friendly spirit of competition is a good thing entirely when it helps raise money for the work of a charity such as Frankie’s Legacy.”

The charity was founded earlier this year by Russell and Lisa Ventura in memory of their stillborn son. Their aim is to create and raise awareness of stillbirth, cleft lip/palate and a rare chromosomal disorder called chromosome 15 duplication syndrome.
