AWARD winning Worcestershire garden centre Webbs of Wychbold, near Droitwich raised more than £5,000 to supply a guide dog.

The yellow Labrador named Webster has now been paired with his new partially sighted owner Haydn Callow in Somerton, Somerset.

Mr Callow said: “Webster is now 21 months old and is a lovely dog who I believe will have a huge impact on my life, already he is guiding me around my home town. I have a progressive condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa which results in me seeing what's in front of me but little else around, this makes busy places no go areas but Webster has changed all that and we can now navigate ourselves around the village and into town.”

“I would like to pass on my thanks to all concerned and let them know how much their fundraising means to people like myself who have limited vision. I wish them all a lovely Christmas, mine will be so much better with Webster to help me.”

Webbs chairman Ed Webb added: "We’ve followed Webster’s progress from puppyhood and through training and his puppy walkers have brought him for visits to the Wychbold store. It’s marvellous to hear he has grown into such a fine young dog and we are delighted that Haydn believes he will have such a big impact on his life.”
