A MOBILE butchers shop, which lost its pitch when Worcester revamped the Angel Place outdoor market, has re-opened from a factory store at Lower Wick.

The family-run firm owned by Michael Jacob and Dave Grub had been a familiar fixture in the city centre for more than 25 years before losing out in the City Council's £555,000 redevelopment scheme.

"Trading there and being part of the community, we worked tooth and nail trying to get alternative locations, but the council did not agree," said Mr Grubb, "so we had to make two workers redundant.

"But we listened to all the customers who have supported us over the last 25 years, we have re-hired and are now launching a brand new factory store, D & M Meats at Unit 4, Venture Business Park in Weir Lane on Friday, March 6. The shop will have some unbelievable opening offers not to be missed, on all meat, frozen foods & all other groceries.

"We are proud to be launching this local store in Worcester and intend to bring all the value for money deals that D & M Meats have become so well known for to your doorstep. Whether you're a butcher, cafe, restaurant or a member of the general public, you are all welcome to come and take advantage of our fantastic deals on meat and frozen food."
