ACCOUNTANTS Bishop Fleming, which has an office in College Yard, Worcester, has been shortlisted in two categories for the 2015 West Midlands Accountancy Awards.

The firm, which has twice been named as the fastest growing in the UK, is one of four on the shortlist for the mid-sized accountancy firm of the year in the West Midlands Awards of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

This category is for accountancy firms with up to 25 partners, and recognises success of the firm itself, its contributions to the prosperity of the West Midlands economy and to the well being of its residents through charitable activities.

A trainee chartered accountant at Bishop Fleming's Worcester office, Phil Redgate, has also been shortlisted for the mentor of the year award for the ICAEW's BASE scheme for chartered accountants to work with schools.

Partner in charge of Bishop Fleming's Worcester office, Ian Smith, said: "We are passionate about how we can help to boost the West Midlands' business prospects, and how our skilled team can help young people to embrace the world of business. These two shortlistings are a very welcome accolade for our ethos".

Managing partner of Bishop Fleming, Matthew Lee, added: "Our other offices are in Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Torquay, and Truro, so we have a long history of understanding the importance of regional business. We are also ardent supporters of Young Enterprise, so we also understand the importance of mentoring young people. We are thrilled to be shortlisted for these West Midlands awards."

The winners will be announced at a lunch event at Edgbaston, home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club, on May 18.
