THE career of trainee accountant Chloe Blackwell is on the up after she passed her professional exams.

The 20-years-old works for Worcester and Redditch based financial experts Hayward Wright and after almost two years of on-the-job training and a part time college course, is now set for a larger role in the firm after securing her Association of Accounting Technicians qualifications. She will now work closely with clients to give tax, audit, accounts and budgeting advice.

Alistair Hayward Wright, managing director of Hayward Wright, said: "As a company we believe in helping young and local talent to grow so we’re delighted for Chloe and very proud of what she’s achieved. The only way that local businesses are going to continue to build on their success is if they invest the time and the money in training the next generation.

“There are young people out there, like Chloe, with a fantastic work ethic and a real desire to develop their skills. Chloe’s been an asset to us since she started and her determination to continue to learn makes her even more so.”

Miss Blackwell added: "For some people university is the best thing to do after school but it wasn’t what I wanted to do. To be able to work while also getting qualifications in my chosen profession has been a fantastic opportunity. Alistair and the team have been amazing to me and I am looking forward to making a wider contribution in the months and years ahead.”

Mr Hayward-Wright added that Miss Blackwell also plans to begin her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants training in September. Her qualification is the latest in a line of good news for the business which was founded by Alistair Hayward Wright in 2007. Earlier this year it invested £180,000 to buy a two-storey office in Redditch as part of the firm’s expansion plans.
