WORCESTERSHIRE companies are getting on their marks to take part in Morrisons Great Birmingham Run Business Challenge in October.

Last year more than 600 runners from the county were among 22,000 individuals who ran the 13.1 mile course around the city centre, making it the biggest half marathon in the Midlands.

Firms entering the business challenge section can create their own short motivational film – be it funny, inspiring or simply educational – and post it on the Great Birmingham Run Facebook page, www.facebook.com/greatbirminghamrun. The challenge is open to small, medium and large businesses, with prizes for the first three teams in each category. Last year’s business challenge was the biggest ever, with over 500 runners and 46- teams taking part.

Business Challenge teams must be a minimum of four people and a maximum of eight, but businesses can enter as many teams as they want, in male, female or mixed sex categories. Mixed teams must have a minimum of two men and two women. Team members must be 16 years of age or over on race day with placings based on the accumulated first four finishing times in each team. Every team that enters 12 or more employees will receive its own personalised company engraved plaque. To enter the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run, go to: www.greatrun.org/Birmingham
