ENGINEERING apprentice Ross Huntley, who works with a mower company in Pershore, has been acclaimed one of the top apprentices in Worcestershire.

Before an audience of 400, he took the intermediate level apprentice of the year award at the Worcestershire Apprenticeships of the Year ceremony at the Treetops Pavillion, at West Midlands Safari Park.

Mr Huntley has been an apprentice in land based engineering with OHMS Mowers, Bridge Street, Pershore, for three years and is currently in his fourth year with the firm. He won his award for outstanding occupational progress and theoretical ability, a positive approach to employment and personal qualities. He was brought into the company to help its existing workforce with basic service work and has progressed to preparing all the equipment for sale, as well as dealing directly with customers.

Peter and Hayley Moffat, who run OHMS, said: "Ross's positive, can-do attitude is a great attribute to the advances taking place in the industry. He is always willing to go the extra mile and the impact of having him working for us is immeasurable."
