A NEW cricket, embroidery and printing business opened in Ledbury over the Easter weekend with two major events.

On Easter Saturday, Quality Sports & Embroidery in Bromyard Road was formally opened by Worcestershire County Cricket stars Joe Clarke and Ed Barnard, who took time off from preparing for the new first class season to join local players in checking out the wide range of products available. The selection of bats in the shop, including many from Gray Nicolls, Gunn & Moore, Kookaburra and specialist bat maker Charlie French, proved especially popular. Also present were Emily Arlott, Quality Cricket’s sponsored player and one of the Worcestershire Women Rapids, Jason Yip, Worcestershire Womens’ development officer and WWR head coach and Esther de Lange, Netherlands Women’s captain and development officer.

Easter Monday saw a visit from specialist bat maker Charlie French, who demonstrated the skills and craftsmanship which have taken him to the top of his profession.
