CARRYING on in the grand tradition of Malvern being a hot bed of technology, the computer skills initiative Code Club is now in its third year at Malvern Parish Primary School.

Each week code club volunteers from borwell, a software company based on Malvern Hills Science Park, hold an hour long after-school club to inspire the future generation of software engineers.

The 10 and 11 year old youngsters are the perfect age to pick up key computing skills and Neil Hart, Year Five teacher at the school, said: "The pupils love it and have learned so much from borwell’s team of code club volunteers. It really helps the school to deliver the new computing curriculum and builds successfully on the work that our staff are doing with younger pupils.

"Code Club encourages pupils to challenge themselves with activities designed to use a variety of coding techniques. Children work at their own pace, using their imagination to create computer games, animations and websites. It is great to see boys and girls solving problems, thinking logically, being creative and having fun."
