A NEW haberdashery business, the brainchild of a Worcester entrepreneur, is set to open in the city this weekend.

Haberdashery expert Tina Masullo decided to take the plunge when the company she worked for within House of Fraser announced it was closing.

Encouraged by friends Mrs Masullo decided to open her own premises - House of Haby - in the indoor market in the Shambles.

The new venture boasts being the only stockist of Rowan yarn in the city, and will have a range of fabrics, cottons and other haberdashery goods.

The mum-of-one said: “There is a real passion amongst a lot of people for making things for themselves whether it’s upcycling, knitting jumpers or home-furnishings.

“As well as being a stockist of quality haberdashery items, I want to use my 30 years in the business to help customers make their vision a reality.”

Mrs Masullo also has expansion ambitions, with plans for a space to hold classes.

“Not only can people learn new skills it’s a great way to socialise with like-minded people,” Mrs Masullo added.

“I have always wanted to own my own business and share my passion – I just needed a push to do, and here I am."

House of Haby opens this Saturday and is marking the occasion with fizz and cupcakes for customers.
