A WORCESTERSHIRE firm, which is one of the leading growers of ornamental plants nationally, has been recognised with an award.

The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, based near Worcester, has been recognised at the International Grower of the Years Awards, which highlights the best practise in horticultural production by top ornamental production nurseries around the world.

Founded in 1961, the firm began life as a pioneering producer of roses, trees and shrubs in pots.

They later became renowned for their innovative plant introductions and marketing, and have introduced numerous new plants to the garden centre market over the last 25 years.

The company recently won silver in the finished plants and trees category, plants that are supplied as finished products to garden centres.

Nine ornamental growers reached the finals from countries across the globe including Columbia, China and Holland.

Geoff Caesar, managing director, who visited Essen in Germany to collect the award alongside Adrian Marskell, sales director, said: “The award is fantastic recognition for all of the team at Bransford Webbs.”

The award followed recognition last year, when Bransford Webbs won the UK Ornamental Grower of the Year, Hardy Nursery Stock Supplier of the Year and the Greatest Plant Supplier of the Year, at three award ceremonies.
