LAW firm Thursfields has been recognised as a committee ambassador for youth charity the Prince's Trust.

The charity helps young people aged 13 to 30 get into jobs, education and training.

As the firm has given years of support it has been recognised as a committee ambassador for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Development Committee.

This year the charity is celebrating its 40th anniversary and, to celebrate this, the committee set themselves an ambitious target of raising £40,000.

As well as taking part and supporting various events throughout the year, Thursfields hosted a quiz night in January at Worcester Cricket Club. The event saw 27 teams from local businesses battle it out to be crowned the winner, with the evening raising more than £4,000 for the charity.

Thursfields were also an event partner for the Trust’s 40th anniversary celebration ball, which took place on February 10 at Worcester Rugby Club.

The spectacular event raised £17,460 and meant the charity smashed its target, with a total amount of £50,225 raised for the year to date.

The partnership has continued to grow with Kirsty Underhill, a trainee solicitor in Thursfields' corporate and commercial team, becoming a member of the committee since June 2016, helping to organise a successful charity quiz night, and assisting the committee with their range of fundraising events.

Nick O’Hara, managing director, said: “We have for many years supported the Prince’s Trust and having Kirsty on the committee means we can continue to play a vital role in supporting the local trust committee.

"We are proud to have contributed to a remarkable amount of money being raised for the charity, which will help change young lives for the better.”
