WORCESTERSHIRE law firm Harrison Clark LLP has shown its support for young people in the county by sponsoring awards recognising young volunteers as well as supporting a charity fundraiser.

The firm, which has an office in Deansway, Worcester, has sponsored the Tryangle Awards and has also helped former county school pupils reach their fundraising target for the Worcestershire Breast Cancer Haven.

Former pupils and staff from the Christopher Whitehead Girls School raised more than £1,000 for the breast cancer unit at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, which opened earlier this year. The fundraiser had aimed for £1,200, so Harrison Clark Rickerbys Charitable Trust topped up the fund to the required amount.

The firm has provided support for the unit before, as it has for the Tryangle Awards, which have now been running for 12 years.

The awards recognise achievement in bravery, arts and music, being good friends and carers, citizenship and environment, personal development, a volunteer leader and achievement in sports.

This year the trust has made a £200 donation in sponsoring one of the award categories. The awards are to be presented in March next year, at a ceremony at Worcester Bosch.

Phil Street, the charity’s manager, said: “I’m delighted that the trust has supported us again - many of our award winners have volunteered to help others in spite of their own difficulties, and we feel very strongly that their efforts should be recognised and rewarded.”

Mat Waddington, chairman of the Harrison Clark Rickerbys Charitable Trust, said: “We are committed to supporting charities in the Three Counties and I am very glad, as my own specialism is children’s law, that we can support young people with our donations.”

Harrison Clark Rickerbys has 420 staff and partners based at offices in Worcester, Cheltenham, the Wye Valley, Hereford, Birmingham and the Thames Valley, who provide a complete spectrum of legal services to both business and private clients, regionally and nationwide.
