WORCESTERSHIRE accountancy firm Hayward Wright has welcomed a new teenage apprentice to its team.
Daniel Onions has joined Hayward Wright Accountancy Group and will work on a variety of IT, commercial and social media projects for the growing accountancy practice.
As part of his appointment, the Redditch-born 17-year-old will also study a Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in IT and Professional Telecommunications at Heart of Worcestershire College - part of a one-year scheme funded by Hayward Wright.
Alistair Hayward-Wright, managing director of Hayward Wright Accountancy Group, which has offices in Worcester and Redditch, said: “The apprenticeship is a great opportunity for Daniel to develop his skills and his career.
“As a business we have grown considerably over the past few years and added several experts to our team - but I think there is something special about looking ahead and to the next generation.
“Apprentices like Daniel can add so much to a business, helping to inject new ideas and adding a new dimension internally. He has fitted in superbly and is working hard to learn and develop himself at every opportunity. He has a great future.”
Mr Onions said: “I have just left school so I am absolutely thrilled to have secured an apprenticeship working with Alistair and the team.
“It is a tremendous opportunity for me and I am already involved with a number of projects both for the business and our clients. That includes helping to progress our IT network, our cloud-based accounting systems and improving how we communicate through social media.
“I cannot wait to contribute more in the months and years ahead.”
Hayward Wright Accountancy Group specialises in a variety of financial matters including tax planning, book keeping, accounts, audit reports and commercial finance.
