A NEW online series of short films by a Wyre Forest production company are set to be made thanks to backing by a Kidderminster carpet firm.

The Community Broadcast Company (CBC) is producing the next episodes of ‘Idle Chat’ – a series of three to five minute short films based around people who randomly meet in different locations and situations.

And the project received a huge boost from local manufacturer Bond Worth Carpets, who have sponsored it.

The series was created by the CBC’s in-house writer Dwane Perks to give first time writer directors the opportunity to see their film ideas come to life with support of a full cast and crew.

Sachia Mooney, Producer said: “We are honoured that Bond Worth are again showing us such tremendous support, and we are so excited to begin shooting Idle Chat’s next episode, ‘Virtue’.

“Our latest episode, written by young film-maker Alex Horne, was shot at The Wharf, Stourport and we would like to thank Spencer and Nanette for very kindly letting us use their fantastic venue.”

Mark Oakes, Bond Worth’s Managing Director said: “CBC’s ethos is to give people in our community, with an interest in film and audio visual media, a chance to be involved with film production.

“There is a depth of talent among young people here in Wyre Forest and CBC do great work in giving local people the opportunity to showcase those talents in an industry which is incredibly hard to break into without the right connections.

“That is why Bond Worth is incredibly proud to be associated with the ‘Idle Chat’ series.”
