A WORCESTERSHIRE solicitor has been shortlisted for the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Awards.

Lauren Hartigan-Pritchard, a senior associate at Thursfields Solicitors, is among three chosen in the legal category.

Brought up in the Midlands, Lauren got her law degree at the University of the West of England before training and qualifying with a firm in Bristol.

Becoming part of a top insolvency team in the South West, she relocated back home in 2013 to launch an insolvency offering for Thursfields.

Working with leading insolvency practitioners, she was praised in Legal 500 for offering “good, solid commercial advice”.

Lauren played a pivotal role in setting up Thursfields’ central Birmingham office in 2015 and is also responsible for leading the firm’s education sector.

Michelle Chamberlain, a director of Thursfields, said: “Lauren is a community-minded professional. Hardworking and driven, with a can-do attitude, she strives to produce great results in everything that she commits herself to.”

The 2017 BYPY awards will again celebrate Birmingham's best professional services talent under the age of 35 across a range of categories before choosing an overall young professional of the year.

Other sectors include property and construction, HR recruitment and training, finance, marketing and communications, technology and aspiring talent.

The awards take place on Thursday, May 18, at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.
