BUSINESS representatives across Wychavon are being invited to come along to the latest information roadshow offering tips on how to grow their companies.

Wychavon District Council is inviting all firms to come along to the latest roadshow event being held at the Pershore College Business Lounge, on Wednesday, May 17.

The event will be running between noon and 2pm, with the aim of helping businesses have the information needed to save money on energy bills, train staff, take on apprentices and expand their business.

The roadshows will be explaining the changes being made to the way training and apprenticeships are funded, with information on how to get funding allowing firms to take on new apprentices.

Sue Owens, Wychavon District Council’s skills officer, said: “This is the second of three roadshows we’re running and as well as the advice on energy bills, a key part of what we’re doing is providing local businesses with information about all of the changes that have taken place to training, not only for apprentices but also for existing staff.

“There’s lots of information, guidance and funding out there for business to take advantage of, such as free training in certain areas of business and grants for growth and energy efficiency. Some of the help that businesses can get will be dependent on their size and the business sector, but what these roadshows are designed for is to take the hard work out of business owners and managers having to search for all of this information themselves. We are coming to them with the advice they need.

“This is an exciting time for businesses in Wychavon, with access to funds being available for training both new and existing staff. My role is to offer support and guidance to businesses within Wychavon and to help them get the most out of the new funding that has been available to them since April."

After the Pershore event, the final roadshow will be taking place at St Andrew's Hotel in Droitwich Spa, on Wednesday, June 14.

Roadshows will take place between noon and 2pm and a light lunch will be provided.
