AN EVENT promoting the work of the Worcester Tourism Association is being held next week.
The Worcester Tourism Association is holding a celebration of its 26 years of work, by holding the event at the Guildhall on Wednesday, May 24.
The event is taking place between 11am and 2pm.
The voluntary body is committed to promoting Worcester as a tourist destination for the benefit of its members, which include representatives from city retailers, pubs, hotels, coach, taxi and car hire firms and charities.
The association aims to increase visitor spend in the city and develop the city's attractions and amenities, increase the number of overnight and day visitors, and enable members to have a say on development and tourism issues.
The association has a budget which is used to support projects in the city, previously supporting the Victorian Christmas Fayre, the Christmas lights, the Elgar Foundation and Walks, the Chinese New Year festival, the arts workshop, the city's music and literary festival, Three Choirs Festival, Worcester Heritage Triangle and the Vesta Tilley Society.
