A HOUSEBUILDER has announced a key appointment as part of a major expansion into Worcestershire and the surrounding region.

Carl Haley has been appointed as managing director of Wainhomes (Severn Valley) Limited, which will have an operational area that covers the county.

The 45-year-old father of four, from Thornbury, has built up a track record in the housebuilding industry, with more than 10 years’ experience as managing director with major housebuilders such as Persimmon and David Wilson.

Wainhomes already has well established regional operations in both the North West and the South West of England and this announcement is the next stage in a long-term expansion plan for the group.

The new company plans to be building hundreds of new homes across the new region it is expanding into.

Steve Toghill, chief executive of Wainhomes, said: “The appointment of Carl Haley is a key part of our strategy for expanding our business into the Severn Valley region

"Carl brings with him a wealth of experience and we are delighted he has agreed to join Wainhomes and head up this exciting opportunity for us.

"Carl’s undoubted abilities combined with the group’s significant financial and operational resources, is the perfect recipe for a highly successful business.

“We see establishing a sizeable presence in the Severn Valley region as an important step in the group’s evolution into a national housebuilding force.

"Not only does the new region fit logically alongside the other regions we already operate from, it also offers tremendous land acquisition opportunities and underlying demand for the type of high quality new homes we build.

"This new region will enable Wainhomes to further develop both its quality brand and its highly regarded reputation as one of the most successful housebuilding operations in the UK."
