CONSTRUCTION work is underway at the site of a brand new housing development in Clifton upon Teme.

Lovell Homes’s new development overlooking the Teme valley is due to launch in summer 2018, with the first homes expected to be ready for purchasers to move in the autumn.

The Meadows situated off Pound Lane will provide an assortment of two, three, four and five bedroom homes.

Construction work is underway after dignitaries and representatives from the housing developer recently officially held a break the ground ceremony.

In support of the local community Lovell will also be contributing nearly £500,000 towards transport recreation and education.

Clifton upon Teme Primary Head teacher Cathryn Throup, who helped to formally cut the first sod, said: “Clifton upon Teme is a delightful village.

"We look forward to welcoming new families into the community, and to our school, which has proudly served the children of Clifton since 1844.”

Lovell Regional Sales Director Trish Foster said: “This is an exciting time for us to start work on our development in Clifton. The village is very beautiful and is surrounded by rolling countryside with a friendly community."
