2:38pm Friday 27th April 2012 in Ledbury & Malvern Business News
BUILDING BUSINESS: Alan Woodridge, of Kier Construction; Steve Speller, chairman of Speller Metcalfe; Kathryn Wagstaff and Steve Green, Thomas Vale’s supply chain manager.
SUPPLIERS from across Worcestershire had the chance to do business with some of the county’s biggest names at Finditinworcestershire’s latest breakfast and networking meeting.
Company representatives took part in exclusive one-to-one meetings with buyers from Thomas Vale Construction, Speller Metcalfe and Kier when more than 150 delegates turned out for Construction: Meet the Buyer, which was held at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways stadium.
Speller Metcalfe, Kier and Thomas Vale are part of the West Midlands Contractor Framework which manages all of the county council’s construction and refurbishment projects.
Worcestershire County Council’s head of property services also met with prospective local suppliers as future development plans were discussed.
To coincide with the meeting, the Finditinworcestershire website has launched bespoke pages for each major contractor which will list all of the contract opportunities available to supply their major projects.
Members can log on to finditinworcestershire.com and visit the major contractors’ projects pages.
Finditinworcestershire project manager Kathryn Wagstaff said: “It was great to see so many local companies getting to know potential purchasers for their goods and services.”
The next event in Finditinworcestershire’s programme of monthly breakfast and networking meetings will be Cyber-security: A Practical Guide. This will be held on Tuesday, May 15. Members can book a free place for the 7am meeting at Worcester Warriors’ Sixways stadium by visiting finditinworcestershire.com where non-members can also register for free.
