COLWALL Community Choir, which is based at The Downs School, sang in a competition at Cheltenham Town Hall last Saturday and came home with a silver cup.
The adjudicator, well-known composer and conductor Bob Leighton, was very impressed with the four items on Colwall's programme, and the certificate shows Commended, just a couple of marks off Outstanding.
"They have style," said Mr Leighton, "but need more men - both basses and tenors." To join the choir, which rehearses under Wendy and Nick Blunn on Thursdays in the school hall at 8pm, ring 01684 541500, or just come along.
At the celebration dinner afterwards, the choir raised the roof with a selection of songs, to the amusement of clients and staff at the Paprika Indian Restaurant in Malvern Link.
