CUSTOMER demand has inspired the owners of a Colwall restaurant to apply for a later opening license.

The Kettle Sings, in Jubilee Drive, Upper Colwall, has been owned by Ros and Dermot Fahy for eight months and they are keen to make visitors welcome throughout the evening.

Mrs Fahy said: "We close at five o'clock and it's just too early.

"In the summer months, when walkers get here we have to tell them they can't come in."

If granted by Herefordshire Council's licensing department, the restaurant would open until 10.30pm.

The pair have recently spent £75,000 on refurbishing the inside of the restaurant and they have applied for permission to do more work to the exterior.
