COLWALL teenager Zoe Jackson got a taste of life in the Fire Brigade when she spent a day at the Malvern Station.
Fifteen-year-old Zoe and her friend Shannon Beard, both students at Ledbury's John Masefield High School, tried on firefighting apparatus, tried their hand at abseiling, and experienced a "smoke room" designed to simulate a real-life fire, all under the watchful eye of the Malvern crew.
"It was a really good day, and the firefighters looked after us really well," said Zoe, whose parents Gill and Jeremy won the day during a charity auction held in Colwall.
