THE first Colwall Family Music Festival takes place this Sunday, July 10.

The event, at Colwall Cricket Club's ground on Ghost Meadow, brings together 25 acts representing some of the finest music makers in the area.

The festival is a new venture devised by Adrian Berry, the chairman of the cricket club and Neil Collins of Midland Audio.

The aim has been to create an event that will aid the club, provide a platform for local performers and give families a day of entertainment.

The bands will be performing on two stages: the Ghost Meadow Stage for full bands and the Pavilion End for acoustic acts.

Musicians appearing include Flatworld, The Pull, The Roving Crows, Matt Woosey and Stompin’ On Spiders, Careful Jepson, Mike Mann, Filtered By Design, Babajack and The Mellors.

The festival will also feature a range of family-friendly attractions and activities, including RchaoS Puppet Theatre, who will be performing their latest show, Why the Rabbit has Long Ears.

Youngsters will also have the chance to work with professional puppeteers from RchaoS to devise their own show and perform it for family and friends. And Amy Rainbow and Dan Frost will be on hand to perform circus skills.

There will be a range of craft stalls, and a stall from Malvern's newest record shop, Classic LPs, plus food and drink stalls, plus a fully licensed bar.

Single tickets are for £6, and under 12s can enter free when accompanied by a paying adult.
