Literary fans' fun in fog
10:20am Wednesday 31st October 2012 in Ledbury
DESPITE heavy fog the first Worcestershire Literary Festival walk offered good company, stories and poetry.
All were welcome to join the event on Sunday, which followed tracks over the Malvern Hills in an opportunity to get fit while getting creative.
Setting off at 11am, the walk lasted between one and two hours taking in British Camp before giving the walkers a chance to see Clutter’s Cave, Hangman’s Hill, Swinyard Hill and the Ridgeway.
They were also able to learn more about the local history while using their imaginations to picture the usual stunning views over Worcestershire and Herefordshire that were shrouded by the weather.
During the course of the route, participants were invited to take regular breaks to write down their thoughts and later encouraged to share them in a reading session at the Malvern Hills Hotel.
The festival will return for the third time from June 14-23, 2013, with a combination of spoken word performances, seminars, workshops, poetry open mic sessions, poetry slams, competitions, signings, talks, children’s events and music.
