A LEDBURY woman has raised £200 for a cancer care charity.

Vivien Carter, of New Mills Road, was one of hundreds of determined fund-raisers taking part in the Walk Ten for Marie Curie Cancer Care earlier this year.

She decided to join the effort after a relative received aid from Marie Curie which provides help and care for the terminally ill. The walk took place at the Croft Estate and Castle at Yarpole, near Leominster, with the route including the Iron Age hill fort at Croft Ambrey and picturesque woodland.

Mrs Carter said: “There were hundreds of people participating and it was a really wonderful experience to be one of that number in an enthusiastic atmosphere.

“As a member of the Ledbury fund-raising team, the money I raise goes to Marie Curie nursing care."
