Pupils sell goods at popular craft fair
6:20pm Thursday 24th January 2013 in Ledbury
PUPILS at a Malvern school showed entrepreneurial spirit when they designed and sold their own products.
Year six children from The Wyche CE Primary School have been working on a young enterprise project, where they were set the challenge of designing and making a product to sell at a popular craft fair.
The children worked in groups, brainstorming ideas and putting together a presentation of their work, which they pitched to a colleague from Barclays’ Malvern branch.
Those groups that gained the green light to make their product sourced all the materials needed and spent the rest of the term manufacturing.
The project culminated with two days of trade at the Hop Pocket Craft Centre in Bishops Frome.
Over the two days, the children took in more £400, part of which was ploughed back into the costs of the resources.
