POLICE have released CCTV images of two women they wish to speak to about a high-value theft from Boots in Ledbury.

Several thousand pounds worth of cosmetics were stolen from the High Street shop, just before 5pm on Friday, January 11.

Two women loaded the items into three large shoulder bags and then left the shop without paying, walking towards St Katherine's car park.

PC Andrew Varden, who is investigating the incident, said: "We have released CCTV images of two women who we are keen to trace in connection with this incident.

"They were in the store at the time of the theft and we believe they might be able to help us with our inquiries.

"We are also keen to hear from members of the public who know of anyone who might be selling a large quantity of make-up and skin care goods.

"The stolen items include Olay, Soap and Glory, and L'Oreal products.

"I would urge anyone who knows the identity of these women or has any information about this theft to call us."

Details can be passed onto PC Varden by calling 0300 333 3000, quoting 440S 110113 or the independent charity Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Is it naive to think that releasing images, good though they are, some 20 days after the theft is going to lead to an arrest? Are these women likely to be in the area, or will they have moved on?

It's always useful to share these articles on Facebook and Twitter, that way the message goes further afield.

sumthin fishy about this. 'cosmetics worth thousands' and 'boots'? i wonder. presumably the thousands is the street-price including vat. boots probably paid a hundred or so.
