Mayor’s charity dinner
AN old masonic lodge was the venue for a fund-raising Valentine’s Day dinner, hosted by Ledbury’s mayor.
The dinner took place in the historic room above the Royal Oak Hotel, where the mayor, Councillor Phill Bettington, surprised all the guests with an unexpected Valentine’s Day quiz, followed by a raffle and auction.
Coun Bettington said afterwards: “I want to thank all those who have helped make this Valentine Dinner such a success and in the process of enjoying the special evening, have raised much needed funds for St Michael's Hospice.”
The final total from the evening is still to be finalised, but it is expected to exceed £400.
