Marathon training is less of a chore with dog Teddy

IT has been a case of “one man and his dog” for a Ledbury man who is training for the London Marathon.

Peter Fletcher has been pounding the pavements and tackling the Malvern Hills as he bids to be in the best possible shape for the big race in April.

But he has not had to do it alone, as his loyal black labrador Teddy has been a constant companion at his side.

Mr Fletcher is running the marathon in memory of his father Phillip, who died last year.

The 42-year-old is originally from Ross-onWye and works in Bristol, but can often be found helping out in his wife Fiona’s Bye Street shop Appliance Solutions.

Mrs Fletcher said this had led to an unusual training regime.

“Pete will always come out on deliveries with me and then when we are out and about, I leave him to run home,” she said.

Mr Fletcher has already raised more than £650 for the charity Heart UK.
